Treason Show Quits Komedia

After nine years of creating a brand new show every month at The Komedia, The Treason Show has quit the venue.

Director, founder and lead performer Mark Brailsford has been forced to accept that despite The Treason Show’s support for the venue managements’ attempts to survive, conditions there now make it impossible for the show to continue at Komedia.

The Treason Show is in negotiations with three unnamed venues in Brighton and will continue with their successful international version of The Treason Show (Berlin) in the interim.

The Treason Show creates work for countless individual performers, directors and technicians and has a list of over 50 writers. The team were nominated for a BAFTA in 2004. The Treason Show also made the Guardian’s Alternative Perrier Shortlist in 2001, has won rave reviews, still plays to packed houses on a regular basis and sells out with its massively popular Christmas Special That Was The Year That Was.

We hope to conclude our negotiations with the various venues and announce the name of our new home in the very near future.

Enquiries welcome.
